“Freshman” is the singular noun: “Birgitta is a freshman at Yale.”


“Freshmen” is the plural: “Patricia and Patrick are freshmen at Stanford.”


But the adjective is always singular:


”Megan had an interesting freshman seminar on Romanesque architecture at Sarah Lawrence.”
