Plants and Direction of Light

Plants require light for photosynthesis.

They have an instinctive sense of the direction from where the light is coming.

Plants grow towards the direction of light. It is very easy to demonstrate. You I put a block on just above the top of a plant, so that direct sunlight is blocked.

Within a few days time you will notice the plant growing to one side so as to by pass the block above it and get access to direct sunlight.

Model Mammoths

Draw the picture of a wooly mammoth on a thick cardboard. Get some brown wool from an old sweater.

Now cut out the figure from the cardboard and stick the wool on the figure.

Paint the eyes and other things like tusk, toes etc. Now you have a model Wooly Mammoth.
