What is the difference between Altar and Alter? :


Altar :

( 1 ) Raised flat-topped platform on which offerings are made to a God in a place of worship

I placed my offerings on the altar.



Alter :

( 1 ) Make or become different – change in position, size, shape, etc….

The plane altered the course of flying.

She had to alter her cloths after losing weight.

We altered discussion after we found that Ms. Mala was not the criminal.
