What is the difference between Spit and Spite? :


Spit : (verb)

1 ) Send out from the mouth

He was spitting blood after being hit in the mouth.

The child took one sip of the tea and spit it out.

2 ) Send saliva from the mouth

He is inclined to spit when he talks quickly.

3 ) Send saliva from the mouth as a sign of anger or contempt

She spat on his face.

4 ) Utter something violently or forcefully

She spat curses at him.

5 ) Make a noise like spitting to show anger

He walked off spitting with fury.

6 ) Rain lightly

It is not raining heavily any more. But it is still spitting a bit.
