Inapt :
( 1 ) Not relevant, appropriate or useful
She did not like your inapt remarks.
Inept :
( 1 ) completely unskillful at something
I have never heard anyone so inept at making speeches.
His inept handling of a minor problem turned it into a major crisis.
( 2 ) Said or done at the wrong time
Not appropriate or tactful
He took offence at your inept remarks.
