Contraction of Air and Temperature

Take two glasses and keep their mouths together. Then put some clay on the edges of the mouths so that it becomes airtight.

Now place the two glasses in hot water. After that take it out and place them in a container of cold water. Try pulling out the two glasses apart.

You will find it hard to separate the two classes apart.

Buoyancy of water

You must have noticed that it is easier to raise an object under water than to raise it outside water.

Take a water-filled bucket and place a bottle of jam in it. Lift the bottle out. You will find that it feels lighter.

This happens because the water gives a push to the bottle. This push is the buoyancy of the water.
