Dutiable : adjective : dutiable goods or dutiable items = goods on which a customs duty has to be paid
Duty : noun : tax which has to be paid
To take the duty off alcohol

Ad Valorem Duty = duty calculated on the sales value of the goods
Customs Duty = tax on goods imported into a country
Import Duty = tax on goods imported into a country
Excise Duty = tax on goods (such as alcohol and petrol) which are produced in the country

Duty paid goods = goods where the duty has been paid

Duty-Free : adjective & adverb : sold with no duty to be paid

Duty-Free Shop = shop at an airport or on a ship where goods can be bought without paying duty
