Making A Fossil

Take a small plastic tub and fill it with modelling clay.

Press a small twig into it. When you remove the twig, an impression of the twig is formed on the clay. Pour some plaster of paris into the impression and allow it to dry. On pulling it out of clay you obtain a fossil.

Planetary Orbit

Fix an art paper sheet on your drawing board and insert two pins about three inches away in the middle. Take a piece of thread about eight inches long, tie the two ends to form a loop and fit it loosely around the pins.

If you hold a pencil tightly inside the loop you will be able to draw elliptical shape corresponding to the shape of a planetary orbit.
