Arabesque: standing on one’s leg with raised leg extended in straight line

Ballerina: female dancer

Choreographer: creator of steps and patterns for a ballet

Coda: final section of a classical ballet

Danseur: male ballet dancer

Glissade: gliding step in a ballet

Pirouette: turning of body while standing on one leg

Promenade: slow turning of body on the planted foot in adagio

Tutu: ballerina’s short, fluffy skirt
