Non-defining Relative Clause :

These clauses follow a noun which does not need definition or explanation. They give some extra information about this person or thing. But the information is not essential. We can omit it losing the message. Commas are used. We put a comma between the noun and its clause and at the end of the clause if the sentence continues.

Examples :

  2. Ram, whom everybody liked, was the team captain.

  3. Sita, whose pain is now worse, call a doctor.
