Primary verbs are derived from the verb BE.


BE : am (First Person Singular - Present Tense)


BE : is (Third Person Singular - Past Tense)


BE : was (First Person Singular, Third Person Singular - Past Tense)


BE : are (First Person Plural, Second Person Singular, Second Person Plural, Third Person Plural - Present Tense)


BE : were (First Person Plural, Second Person Singular, Second Person Plural, Third Person Plural - Past Tense)


  1. I am a college student.

  2. I was in Mexico for six months.

  3. He is no more in this company.

  4. It was my house.

  5. You are my friend.

  6. You were the College Chairman last year.

  7. She is an intelligent girl.

  8. He was very polite.

  9. You are a clever boy.

  10. They are our customers.

  11. They were no more our dealers.



Some primary verbs are derived from the verbs HAVE or DO.


  1. They have two kittens.

  2. Rubi has a beautiful doll.

  3. Ragavan does his homework on time .

  4. He had to visit our home.

  5. They did their home-work.

  6. Raja has two pencils.

  7. We do our exercises regularly.
