Reacting and Deciding

Things required : For this activity you need a large cardboard box, a three feet length of plastic conduit pipe of 2.5 inches diameter (or a pipe made up of stiff card), a thick piece of thermocole and a number of table tennis balls.

Activity : First cut a hole with a diameter of 2.5 inches in the box, four inches away from the centre of one side. Insert the conduit pipe in the hole, in a way that it is at a steep incline to the table. Place the lower end of the pipe on the thermocole piece and draw a line 3 inches away from the point where the pipe rests. Ask one friend to stand behind the box and drop one ball at a time into the pipe and ask another friend to hit the ball with a flat piece of wood as it comes out of the tube and before it crosses the line.

By this experiment you can judge which of your friend has the best reaction and decision making time by counting the maximum number of balls one can hit.
