Water Pressure
&
Rate of Evaporation

Water Pressure

When there is lack of space, water pressure will increase. It is easy to see this.

Open a water tap and allow the water to flow out without any hindrance. After that, by using your forefinger, try to block the water flowing out. Then you will see the water coming out like a jet.

Rate of Evaporation

The rate of evaporation is dependent on the surface area. If it is more, evaporation will be more. This can be easily proved.

All you have to do is take water in two containers, one an open, small-mouthed water bottle and the other an open tray. Pour equal amount of water in both and keep them open for a few days in water in a window sill.

After that take out the water from each container and measure each. You will find that the water in the open tray is considerably lesser in quantity when compared to that of the bottle.
