What is the difference between Apposite and Opposite? :
Apposite :
( 1 ) Very appropriate for a purpose or an occasion
I found his speech wholly appropriate to the current debate.
He comments were entirely apposite to the subject under discussion.
Opposite :
( 1 ) Having a position on the other side of something / someone
His house is on the opposite side of the road.
She entered the room through the opposite door.
( 2 ) Facing a specified person / thing
I asked the man opposite if he could open the door.
( 3 ) Entirely different – contrary
They were traveling in opposite directions.
