One of the most essential things in this world is knowledge and acquiring it is very important for proper living. But most people do not try to acquire knowledge. They pretend to know everything after knowing a little bit. These pretensions cause a lot of trouble not only to the person but also to people surrounding them. This is very well illustrated in Mahabharata where Arjun’s son Abimanyu enters the Chakra vyuga without knowing how to come out of it and this led to his death.
The Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar says when some one learns… he should learn it thoroughly and then stand by it. So a little knowledge causes danger not only to self but also to others. Persons who has a little knowledge and considers himself a master of the subjects and an efficient in his profession is considered to be a dangerous person. So a little knowledge not only causes danger to self but also to others.
We should strive with our best efforts to deepen our knowledge in the area of our interest. With very little and shallow knowledge, our journey will not complete. We will be caught in the problems of mediocrity.

The word ART in this maxim means not just painting. It means all forms of artistic expressions like sculpture, literature and even scientific works. The meaning of this maxim is that human life is short whereas the artistic work produced by man is long lasting and even forms the identification of a society and a particular race of people.
Art achieved by these people is so vast and it does not have any limit and so a person who wants to achieve perfection should practice. A perfect art will survive the passing of time and it will be famous world wide. Leonardo Da-Vinci was a great artist and he made the famous paintings THE LAST SUPPER and THE MONA LISA. He was not only a painter but also an inventor. He invented the scissors and drew various diagrams for the Parachute, Glider, Battle Tank and Submarine. He is remembered world wide for his contributions to the society. Though Da Vinci has passed away his name still survives because of his artistic contributions to the society.
So, our works of art will speak volumes about us even after our death. Many luminaries who illuminated this world with their knowledge and artistic works are remembered for their brilliance after their death only because of their master pieces.
