The difference between Type II and Type III :

Meaninig :

Type II : Comparison is in a group and we select one person as having the quality in the highest degree.

Type III : Comparison is in a group but there are a few who are the best and we select one of them.



Superlative :

Type II : the best - Dhoni is the best batsman.

Type III : one of the best - Dhoni is one of the best batsmen.



Comparative :

Type II : better than any (or all) other - Dhoni is better than any other batsman.

Type III : better than many (or most) other - Dhoni is better than many other batsmen.



Positive :

Type II : No other as good as - No other batsman is as good as Dhoni is.

Type III : Very few as good as - Very few batsmen are as good as Dhoni is.
