Analysis

The thickness of a single sheet is 0.001 cm.

1000 sheets will have a thickness of 1000 X 0.001 = 1.000 cm. = 1 cm

So, 5000 sheets will have a thickness of 5000 X 0.001 = 5 cm.

So, the answer is (D).
